Free Dead Hang Timer

Step up, get your grip, then step off and hold with straight arms — the clock runs until your arms bend or you let go. Tracking runs on your device — no video is uploaded, no account needed.

Stepping up gives the cleanest start. Jumping works too, but the swing can make it harder to lock in the hold.

How the tracking works

Your camera feed runs through Google's MoveNet pose model inside your browser. It tracks your shoulders, elbows, wrists and hips. Once it sees your wrists well above your head with your arms straight, the clock starts. Bend your arms sharply or bring your hands down and the clock stops for good — that's your time. A brief tracking flicker under a second never ends a genuine hold.

What it can't check: the camera tracks body position only. It can't see the bar, confirm your grip, or tell whether your feet are off the ground — it times the hang position, and the honesty of the hang is up to you.

Why on-device matters

No video leaves your phone. Pose tracking runs in your browser, no video or photos are saved or uploaded, and there is no account or sign-up wall to use the timer.

Dead hang form and setup tips

Grip the bar about shoulder-width, let your arms go fully straight and keep your shoulders gently engaged rather than shrugged into your ears. For the camera: prop the phone 5–6 feet back and a little below chest height, facing you, so your hands and the bar stay inside the frame the whole time — hands cut off at the top is the most common reason a hold ends early. Use even lighting and avoid a bright window behind you. Step up, get your grip, then step off and hold.
